HELLO & WELCOME!

Ataera Activities

The ATAERA network consists of eleven aviation programmes in Europe and across the globe that are working closely together in the areas of education, research and partnerships with the aviation industry. This collaboration creates a powerful network of like-minded Aviation universities, which form major partners in the field of aeronautics and air transport.

ATAERA launches international student competition

ATAERA launches an international student competition in cooperation with the AviAssist Foundation. Student teams will be working on a case related to a safety challenge currently existing at an African airport. The three top student teams will be selected during the AviAssist conference in Spring 2018, and will go on a sponsored trip to the African airport over summer, with the goal to present their final plan during INAIR in Autumn 2018.

ATAERA submits Knowledge Alliance proposal within Erasmus+ Funding scheme

In February this year, ATAERA submitted a proposal entitled 'KATANA - Knowledge Alliance Towards Aviation aNd Academic Research' within the Erasmus+ Funding scheme. The objective of KATANA is to develop relevant competences and skills for both young generations and professionals so that they can excel and help the EU aviation sector to retain its competitive edge. The KATANA project will focus on 3 key topics of the air transport value chain, being:

  • the emergent trend of big data issues in Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) of aircrafts,
  • the still largely unknown impacts of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on air transport and other markets, and
  • the recent issues in the planning and development of airports in times of growing budget crunch, environmental concerns and growing volatility
